Bullying specifically included in new EU Agreement [22-11-2007]

Bullying has been specifically included in the new European Framework Agreement commiting employers to adopt policies and procedures for dealing with bullying, harassment and violence at work. It is significant in that it is a major and formal recognition of bullying, and largely focuses on bullying, which has not been adequately covered by legislation to date.

Whilst it is unlikely to lead to EU legislation in the near future, it is expected to lead to collective agreements at national, sectoral and large-employer level.
